报告题目:Three Natives at the Crossroads (Road to the Heaven)

报 告 人: Prof. Kazuo Ohta (UEC)

报告时间:227日(星期一)14:00-15:00

报告地点:将军路校区计算机学院办公楼507

报告简介:

In this work, we will discuss the following problem and its extensions. When a traveler walks the road, he comes to a fork where three guides stand. One branch leads to Heaven, and the other one leads to Hell. The traveler wants to go to Heaven. There are three characteristics of guides, honest, dishonest and random. Honest guide always answers a question honestly with YES or NO, dishonest one always answer a question dishonestly (oppositely) with YES or NO, a random one answers YES or NO randomly, that is, sometimes answers honestly, and sometimes answers dishonestly to each question. We assume that the traveler cannot distinguish which characteristic a guide has from appearance, while each guide knows characteristics of other guides. The traveler can ask one yes-no question to one guide, and is permitted to ask two questions in total. What and how are TWO queries by the traveler in order to go to Heaven?
